Help is on the Way!

I heard a powerful message about Moses and the children of Israel. I will attempt to share my understanding of it. In Exodus chapter three, God appeared to Moses and told him to go to the Elders of Israel and tell them that the God of their fathers has heard their cry and has seen what has been done to them in Egypt; and He promises to bring them up out of their misery into a land flowing with milk and honey. (Exodus 3:1-17) Moses was the man God used to deliver them.

The message I heard was about how God prepares the man before He can be a blessing to you. In other words, God hears your cry for help, but the one who will help is being prepared so God can use him to help you, to be the answer to your prayer.

I thought back over the years of asking God what is the meaning of life? Looking for a way out of my misery. I think back on the thoughts of suicide, and that tiny voice that kept me safe. I needed to hold on until my help arrived. Of course, I had no idea about God or what he was doing. While I was crying out, God was working on the man that He would use to deliver the gospel to me. It took years for everything to line up, but when the man of God was ready, I was ready to receive God’s helper. It was two years after I returned to my hometown, broken, and discouraged about life, that I came in contact with the man of God. He had only been in the city about two years and started a church a few months before I met him.

Back to Exodus 3, God did not tell the Israelites that he was sending help, He did not acknowledge to them that he heard their cries for help. But instead he went to Moses and said it is time to deliver my people. Israel was in bondage many years and we know Moses was on the backside of the desert for 40 years. The time had come, both sides were ready.

God wishes that none would perish, that all would be saved. We cannot say of ourselves that there is no hope for the unsaved. We can say however, we do not know who, when or where, God will call someone’s name. Another thought, God is always looking for someone to work with him. So men and women are in preparation for the appointed time when God says go; there is a young woman searching for me, searching for life and I have heard her cries and I have observed her life; now is the time to deliver her and bring her into the kingdom.

I can only imagine, where I would be if the man of God did not answer the call of God to go to Arkansas. As a believer, knowing that God cares about you should lead to trusting Him to answer your cry. Knowing that God will send someone should cause you to pray for the one who is on the way. As a Christian, we should pray for those who do not know God. Pray for their protection, until the appointed time when God will send his servant. Help is on the way, just believe.
